Headline traffic is a lagging signal; momentum leads. A product can sit mid-table for months then double its visits, and the month-over-month view is where that acceleration shows first. We rank the fastest growing AI tools by relative growth, not absolute adds, because a small tool gaining two hundred percent tells you more about where demand is heading than a giant adding the same raw number.
The trap is noise. A new domain with almost no baseline can post huge percentage growth off one post, which means nothing. So we require two consecutive months above a confidence floor before a product nears the top — that filters out one-week wonders and leaves genuine uptrends.
